16 Days of Halloween: The Big Foot Stomp

Posted on October 22, 2010

I LOVE legends about Big Foot. I do believe it’s possible that Big Foot exists we just haven’t discovered it yet. I’m not saying I think it should be hunted down and shot so some scientific brainiac can chop it apart. I am saying that it is possible for Big Foot to exist—it might not be plausible, but I do believe it’s possible.

Legends about Big Foot or a Big Foot type creature have existed for as long as humans have. Each culture has their own legends, their own take on this giant beast. But for my purposes here I’m only addressing the movies I’ve seen, and they deal with America’s Big Foot.

Big Foot movies have always been a kick for me. I love to watch them and be frightened. I also spend a great deal of time in the woods and my imagination only needs a small spark to get it moving into hyper drive.

The first movie I ever saw really affected me. I’d heard the legends before and this movie was based on these eye witness accounts—which made it all the more terrifying.

1. Legend of Boggy Creek (1972)

2. Sasquatch: Legend of Big Foot

3. This movie scared the bajeebers out of me because right after seeing it my grandmother had me ride my bike through the dense woods to a friend’s house to pick up a plant. The woods were so dark and thick and I was certain that something was following me. (Hey I was 9—give me a break!) Anyway the movie was 1978’s Curse of Big Foot:

4. Clawed: The Legend of Big Foot

5. ManBeast: Myth or Legend

6. Night of the Demon

7. Legend of Big Foot

8. NightBeast

Tomorrow we’ll look at movies from when nature goes wild!
